great
sources of information on American peoples' music and instruments. He
is the person most responsible for my lifetime of repairing, restroing
and building guitars and other fretted instruments. He's also one of

best finger style guitar players around. His web site is a font of
great information. MarcSilberMusic.com |

Fretted
Instruments School of Guitar and Banjo |
Jack
Baker,
one of New York’s foremost teachers of guitar and banjo,
possibly
uke also, used to have a little studio right next to Marc
Silber’s Fretted Instruments shop. When Marc left for
Berkeley,
he gave jack permission to use the name. If you want to learn anything
about playing, Jack’s your man. As I remember Roy Bookbinder
learned a lot of blues stuff from him. Check his site at frettedinstrumentsnyc.com

Garry Davis, one of the greatest blues artists of the last century. If

If you can
get to Woodstock on
Oct. 23 or 24 come to the Woodstock Invitation Luthiers Showcase at the
Bearsville Theater. This is the only guitar show I do and
it’s a great way not only to see guitars, but hear music
played by some of the best musicians
in the country. I will be there late Saturday an all of Sunday. Elly
Wininger will be at the booth and can help you with any questions you
may have.

Marc Aroner
is one of the finest craftsman I have ever met. You might think that a
fishing rod is not something comparable to a guitar, but it takes Marc
about the same amount of time to make a rod as it does for me to make a
guitar. Take a look at his site spinozarods.com
to see just how far one can be
sucked into fly fishing. Can’t live without it myself.
